15 years of Crossing Cayuga for Hospicare
This is my 15th year participating in Women Swimmin' to raise money for Hospicare & Palliative Care Services!!! I continue to serve on the planning committee, chair the Women Swimmin' Policy Committee, and most important: I organize the swimmers into PODS so that they can safely cross Cayuga.
This year, I'm dedicating my swim to my friend, fellow swimmer, and doggie day care provider, Steph Gardener, who died in December at the age of 45. Steph We have formed team STEPH STRONG to honor and remember our amazing friend.
Through the years, I've done this swim with my daughter Sarah, and many other of my swimming friends. My husband, David, has often escorted me across the lake in a kayak --- keeping me on track. Even though I'm a fairly strong swimmer, I still find it daunting to jump into the lake and swim across. I find strength knowing that I'm contributing to Hospicare's ability to provide compassionate care to their patients and their families.
Your donation to Women Swimmin' will help make this important end-of-life care available to anyone in Tompkins or Cortland counties who needs it--regardless of their ability to pay.
Thank you for making a donation on my behalf!
